The five vases made of dark brown, almost black stoneware stand for Marie Michielssen's first steps as a ceramist. Anyone who follows her work knows that Marie loves to work with her hands. She used to describe modeling with plaster and papier-mâché as an almost meditative process because of the repetitive movements. The step to ceramics was not far at all for her. The simple cylinders are irregularly shaped, as is typical for handwork. Due to their unique character, they look very decorative both with and without flowers.
