Let's Pretend None of This Ever Happened documents the neon, LED, and other text-based works of the British artist Tim Etchells. The book provides a cohesive and comprehensive overview of his projects in public spaces and galleries, featuring impressive, colorful images of key works that have found their place in various parts of the world. In addition to the extensive visual overview, Let's Pretend None of This Ever Happened includes an introduction and an in-depth conversation between the director of the Kunstverein Braunschweig, Jule Hillgärtner, and the artist himself. Through this survey of the entire spectrum and the various approaches in Etchells' sculptural work with text, Let's Pretend None of This Ever Happened engages in a dialogue spanning 16 years of his work and explores the complex relationship between individual pieces and the different contexts in which they have been displayed in recent decades.

Tim Etchells, born in 1962 in the United Kingdom, is an artist and writer whose work spans sculpture, drawing, installation, performance, video, and experimental storytelling. Since 1984, he has been the artistic director of the experimental theater and performance group Forced Entertainment, based in Sheffield.

Jule Hillgärtner has been the director of the Kunstverein Braunschweig since 2014, and her aim is to open up perception to gain a more comprehensive perspective.
